Brain Tumors: Clinical Trials Demystified

Clinical trials are critical in finding new and better treatment options for brain tumors. Dr. Edward Pan from UT Southwestern Medical Center wants to clear up some misconceptions surrounding clinical trials. In almost all clinical trials for brain tumors, patients are provided with an additional time of treatment or medication in addition to the standard of care. Patients will also have their progress tracked more closely when participating in a trial.

“The only way we are going to make any headway into finding effective treatments is for patients to enroll in clinical trials.”

Patients and caregivers should discuss their treatment options with their medical team.
